Watch out New Mexico — cooler temperatures are only a month away, but many experts say that a phenomenon called, the “Polar Vortex” may add to the chill in September and October! Long-range forecasts indicate that New Mexico may receive more rain and snow in the north, and generally, rainy and wet conditions in the southern 2/3rds of the state in the next couple of months. The Polar Vortex may slip at times and the Rockies could be more winter-like. What does all of this mean? It means that home and business owners should be starting to think about winter conditions and taking precautions with their pipes. If you’re not prepared for a cold winter blast, pipes can freeze, leaving devastating results. There are many websites filled with winter preparation information, so please be prepared.
